Swiss Gear SA1270 Laptop Backpack Review

When you invest money for gadgets and tech, you want to make sure that they are well taken care of. I was in the market for a good laptop backpack. I looked at what was available at a few places in the mall. I decided to check what was available at Circuit Zone which has a location in El Socorro South (can be seen from the highway). This is a short distance from where I live. I was looking for a budget bag that was well padded and could hold a wide 15.6″ laptop.

When I saw the Swiss Gear backpack my eyes lit up. When I heard the price I was disappointed. I contemplated for a short while and I looked at the other bags and then decided to put some extra money and buy a good bag. Swiss Gear is a good brand. Wish they had more models to choose from at the shop. The price I paid is comparable to what I would have paid to buy online and ship to Trinidad with VAT and duty. You won’t find this model in the current lineup on their website though.

The labeling states that it would fit most 17″ laptops. There is a separate compartment for a tablet. There are lots of compartments and space. There is enough space for my camera gear and clothes when I travel to Tobago. There is a holder for a water bottle on the side. I prefer this black colour that would not look dirty with use. The material and build feels premium. It looks good and is comfortable to carry around. There is a recessed area on the back to allow airflow to your back. One bother is that there is too little padding at the bottom. Many of the bags that I looked at fails in this area.

I would give this buy an 8 out 10. Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
